What ClearCaps does

A live conversation assistant that works offline, respects your privacy, and adapts to everyday situations.

Live captions

Minimal latency, large-font accessibility mode. Text that breathes with the conversation, in real time.

Speaker identification

Detects who is speaking and color-codes them. Rename "Speaker 1" to "Mom" or "Dr. Rodriguez" — it sticks across the session.

Built-in AI assistant

Auto-summary, transcript cleanup, context-based speaker name inference. All on-device.

Live translation

10+ languages with Apple's on-device Translation framework. Nothing is sent to any server.

Direct-question alerts

Haptic feedback when someone addresses a direct question to you. So you don't miss the moment.

Visual context

Snap a photo and the AI describes the scene to enrich the conversation. Useful in unfamiliar settings.

Zero cloud data

After the initial model download, everything runs inside your iPhone's chip. No audio, no transcripts, no summaries, no metadata ever leaves the device. No analytics. No tracking. Saved sessions live only on your iPhone and are deleted when you uninstall the app.

Frequently asked questions

Does it really work without internet?

Yes. The first time, the app downloads the AI models (~700 MB for basic captioning, ~2 GB extra if you enable the AI assistant). After that, all processing — transcription, speaker identification, translation, summaries — runs on your iPhone's Neural Engine and GPU. The app works in airplane mode.

Is ClearCaps a hearing aid or does it replace one?

No. ClearCaps is a complementary accessibility tool. It is not a medical device, is not approved by FDA or any health authority, and does not replace a professional audiological evaluation, a prescribed hearing aid, or a cochlear implant. It is an aid for understanding conversations in everyday situations.

Which iPhone do I need?

iPhone running iOS 26 or later. For all AI features (summary, cleanup, visual context) we recommend iPhone 15 Pro or newer because of the unified memory (8 GB+). On older 6 GB models the core features (captions + diarization) work well.

Is it legal to record other people?

It depends on your jurisdiction. Audio recording laws vary: some places allow one-party consent, others require all-party consent. You are responsible for complying with local laws. ClearCaps processes everything on-device, but that does not exempt you from your legal obligations.

Why one-time pricing instead of a subscription?

Because the app runs 100% on your device. There are no servers to pay for. You buy ClearCaps once, you own it. We hate subscription fatigue as much as you do. All future updates are included in the original $4.99.
